ROKTOBER! 2011

Timbre Music and Erdinger proudly present Roktober!, four nights of pure undulated fun on 20 to 23 October 2011 at Timbre @ The Substation and the car park in front of the live music venue.

Back with a vengeance after 2010’s inaugural outing, the free admission event spans more live music performances over two separate stages, live match screenings of Rugby World Cup 2011, classic beer games including the Beer Pong Championship with celebrity competitors and even a (ticketed) BBQ buffet.

ROKTOBER! BANDS:

On propagating non-chicken dancing, Singaporean bands The Marilyns , Cheating Sons and Pleasantry (led by ex-frontwoman of Postbox) play along resident Timbre bands Goodfellas and 53A over the four evenings. Timbre’s Blues Summit featuring prominent Singapore blues musicians and personalities including bands Chicken Shack Revival, Raw Earth, Mel & Joe and members of the Singapore Blues Club are back again on Sunday for an early evening of blues, rock & roll and soul. This annual highlight promises to entertain Roktober! audiences and provide some musical surprises along the wall. Specially invited to Roktober! is also New Jersey, the ultimate Bon Jovi tribute band who is well known in every corner of Australia to be able to simulate all aspects of a "real" Bon Jovi concert. Even music guru and close friend of Jon Bon Jovi, Molly Meldrum himself, says of them "They are sensational - even Jon would be proud!!". Be ready to punch your fist in the air, hold your lighter up and get ready for as close to the real deal during their performances.

RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011 @ ROKTOBER!

With Roktober! coinciding with Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) Bronze Final and the Final matches, Timbre and ESPN STAR Sports on SingTel mio TV bring RWC 2011 to Roktober! grounds. Savour the excitement of the last two prime matches of the season along with other rugby fans on giant projector screens spread across the grounds. Doors will specially open from 3pm on both Friday 21 October and Sunday 23 October with live screenings at 3.30pm and 4pm respectively.

ROKTOBER! GAMES

Roktober! is the defacto place where you can get your balls wet again at our second annual Beer Pong Championships. Upping the ante this year will be the beer pong-off between DJs from Power 98 and 88.3Jia FM who will be battling out for egos and bragging rights. Not only will participants be enjoying the fabulous free beer during the competition, they may even win for themselves the iPad 2, Erdinger hampers and more! Other games include ‘Man vs Food’ & ‘Beer Chapteh’.

FREE BEER!

Free Erdinger will be given away on Friday 21 October and Saturday 22 October at The Peranakan Museum located just next to Timbre @ The Substation. Before you pick up your beer, browse through the Sarong Kebaya: Peranakan Fashion and its International Sources exhibition with more than 120 rare and beautiful pieces on display including treasures from private collectors and the Dutch museums. To sweeten the deal, admission into the museum is free during 5pm to 9pm on these two days.

ROKTOBER! BBQ

Roktober!’s menu of hearty bratwursts grilled pork knuckles and pretzels are back by popular demand. For the folks who are not afraid to go the extra mile, a BBQ buffet with meat carving stations and hot grill savouries are available on Final match day (Sunday 23 Oct).
